Sunrise over Skadar Lake
This circular trail begins in the old village of Komarno, once one of the largest and liveliest villages in the Skadar Lake region. After passing the World War II memorial and the ruins of a long-abandoned school, the path climbs into the rocky hills before disappearing into the forest.
A short walk brings you to a plateau, where the remains of the tiny village of Zaboj rest quietly among the trees.

forest trail
White limestone rocks, sun-warmed and timeworn, invite you to lie back, fit a small gas stove into a stone crevice, and brew a coffee. Sip slowly and take in the view - from the rounded islands of Cakovica to the misty peaks of the Accursed Mountains and the distant valley of Shkodra to the east.
Poseljani village
After a short (or perhaps well-deserved longer) break, you can return to Komarno or continue toward the lush coastal jungle of the lake. Here, the trail leads through marshlands rich with life, where old stone watermills still stand in Poseljani and kingfishers whisk over the shallow waters.
